What’s in my Handbag: August 2017 Edition

Normally when I see these ‘What’s in my Handbag?’ posts, they’re about the essentials that you have to carry around with you. Unfortunately for my poor makeup, most of the items that end up chucked inside my bag are there just because I’ve evicted them from my makeup collection for whatever reason.

I almost never reapply makeup while I’m out and about so I don’t feel the need to carry important items with me- except lipstick which is usually the only thing I reapply regularly.

On to the contents! I excluded the boring things like my phone and sunglasses…

Dove Go Fresh Pomegranate & Lemon Roll-On Antiperspirant (RRP £2.39)

Deodorant is a must-have in my bag and I picked this one up from Poundland one day when I’d misplaced the usual one I carry with me.

L’Oreal False Lash X Fibre Mascara (£10.99, Superdrug)

I chucked this L’Oreal mascara in my bag quite recently just as a back-up for keeping my lashes looking good. This one is on its way out so it was a good way to clear my collection and still get some occasional use from it.

B. Hyaluronic Acid Facial Sprtiz (£7.99, Superdrug)

I used to use this spray on a morning to wake up my skin but it’s become my go-to for rehydration throughout the day or for when I forget to use setting spray before I leave the house!

Revlon PhotoReady Powder in light/medium (£11.29, Superdrug)

This isn’t a bad power but I rarely use the ones that add extra colour to my face. The compact includes a handy mirror and brush so it’s perfect for having in my bag in case of emergencies!

La-Tweez Illuminating Tweezers (£19, Amazon)

The light on this sadly broke years ago and I have replacement tweezers in my dressing table but these are pretty handy to have with me and come in a tube and travel case with a mirror.

Bach Rescue Pastilles (£5.39, Superdrug)

I can’t find much information on this product but I basically use to combat everyday nerves.

Boots Oil Absorbing Sheets (£3.99, Boots)

These aren’t the best oil absorbing sheets I’ve ever used but they’re okay for keeping in my handbag as I do get oily during the day.

Helen E Skin Smoother in shade fair (£13.50, Helen E)

I don’t really like this product and rarely use it so I have it mostly for the mirror at the moment!

Now for the lip products…these do rotate depending on what I have on my lips

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Budapest (£6, Boots)

I picked up this shade when it was on offer on Feel Unique as it’s a bit darker than I’d usually wear but it helps to have options when it comes to reapplying lipstick!

Revlon Balm Stain in rendevouz (£7.99, Boots)

This is one of my faves so no need to say much but I’m trying to use the last bit up so I’ve been carrying it with me for makeup touch-ups!

Avon Colour Trend Lipstick Kiss n Go in valentino (no longer available)

Another one I’m trying to use up. I’ve had this lipstick for a long time so I use it for those times when I’ve forgotten to apply lipstick or fancy a pop of red.

Bourjoius Rogue Edition Velvet Lipstick in peach club (£8.99, Superdrug)

A recent addition to my handbag lipstick collection, I decided to rehome this lipstick permanently in my bag since it wipes off my lips so quickly whenever I wear it and I need the constant reapplications!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipstick in Love and O-Beige (£9, Boots)

This nude lipstick isn’t my favourite as it’s basically the colour of my lips but I leave it in my handbag for times when I’m going for a more natural look.

So that’s the contents of my bag! What have you got in yours? x
