So I may have made one or two purchases recently…I am trying to use up makeup I already have but it’s been a while since I tried out anything new so here’s a full face of new stuff!
Eyebrows:
e.l.f. Brow Pencil Neutral Brown (£3, Superdrug)
Good colour for me and very cheap at £3 but it kind of felt cheap if that makes sense? Definitely doesn’t replace my beloved Maybelline Brow Satin or L’Oreal Brow Expert but I go through pencils quick!
New Look Brush on Brows Fibre Gel Dark Brown (£4.99, New Look)
It was BOGOF on New Look makeup so I got this to test out since I’m nearing the end of my fave L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. The tube is tiny and so is the brush but I think I prefer my L’Oreal one. I’ll keep using this though!
NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel (£6, Boots)
Yes…I do regularly use 3 different products just for brows…I do have a clear gel from New Look too but I’d already opened this NYX one a couple of weeks ago. It’s a mascara type brush so I think I’d prefer a smaller wand but it does the job!
Face:
MUA Pro Base Primer Balm (£5, Superdrug)
Not sure how I feel about this. It’s a clear balm so it’s difficult to tell what’s actually going on your face and I feel like it didn’t really do anything.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation shade Ivory (£8.99, Superdrug)
I don’t talk about foundation a lot so I’ll probably do a separate review for this. This is Rimmel’s new breathable foundation in the lasting finish range. I already love the original lasting finish formula but it is a bit too heavy for everyday coverage for me so I’m glad they brought this out.
I didn’t buy any new concealer so I used my usual Collection Lasting Perfection and Bourjois Radiance Reveal.
Bronzer:
Freedom Bronzer Professional Pro Bronze (£1.50, Tam Beauty)
I got this in my last Tam Beauty haul and had been saving it until I got through some others but I thought why not try it? It’s a huge pan so will last ages and the shade is good for my skintone too. Just as good as my fave Rimmel bronzer!
Highlight:
e.l.f. Baked Highlighter Blushed Gems (£5, Superdrug)
I have warm-toned skin so I thought this might suit me better than the other shade. I’ve heard about e.l.f. baked products having a top layer that you need to scrape off to get any use out of the product and that’s definitely true! I noticed that the tester in store did not have this top layer so not sure why they do it! This is a nice highlight but on the pricey side for the small amount of product you get.
New Look Highlight Brow Crayon (£3.99, New Look)
I used the pearl colour of this double-ended crayon after my eye makeup for my inner corner and brow bone. I like it so far but it fades quickly!
Eyes:
De’Lanci Nocturne Eyeshadow Palette (£12.98, Ali Express or £16.47, Amazon)
I ordered this from Ali Express, which I am a little dubious about but I’ve loved De’Lanci products bought from Amazon before. You can grab this on Amazon for quicker delivery too but at the time of ordering it was much more expensive! On first impressions, I absolutely love this palette! Expect a full review coming soon!
Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner Brown (£2.99, Superdrug)
I rarely wear liquid liner at all but I thought brown would make a nice change since I recently made the swap from black to brown with my pencil liner. It’s not as pigmented as I would like, unfortunately and sort of looks like black liner that’s faded. I’m interested to try out other colours though!
L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara (£7.99, Boots)
My pile of mascaras waiting to be used is getting out of hand but I tried this L’Oreal one out in my Creepy Doll Halloween Makeup look as the effect is quite doll-like but it has a flexible brush and I haven’t quite got the hang of it yet!
Lips:
Tanya Burr Lipstick Pink Cocoa (£6.99, Superdrug)
This is a gorgeous pinkey nude but it is very glossy and doesn’t last at all on my lips, which is a shame.
Lord & Berry Ultimate Lip Liner Bare (£11, Look Incredible)
I got this in my Look Incredible October Beauty Box (because I’d never pay more than about £2 for a lip liner!) the colour is a nude but it was a little two brown-toned for this lipstick. I like it though- after the lipstick faded this was still holding on!
I finished with e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set spray! (£4.50, Superdug)
Have you tried anything new recently? x
The eyeshadow palette is super pretty! I love the colors.
