Hello my lovelies!
Cult Beauty had an offer on where you got their best of 2017 goody bag free on orders over £165. That sounds like a lot to spend on beauty but I was already planning to treat myself to a couple of high end pieces and there’s nothing like the mention of a freebie to get me parting with my cash!
In my excitement to show you this, I completely forgot to photograph the things I actually bought but I wanted a Becca highlight and Charlotte Tilbury foundation for an upcoming post on high end vs. drugstore (you know, all for the good of my blog…) so they will make an appearance soon!
The package came in a cute Cult Beauty zip bag, containing all 18 free items! I’ve pictured the 16 beauty things I got but it also came with a vanity case and a £15 Cult Beauty gift card as well as a sample of the new Huda Beauty foundation and primer.
So, what did I get?
Huda Beauty Complexion Perfection Primer (RRP £27)
Full size! And I did get a sample of it as well that I presume came with all orders. I’m really into trying primers out at the moment so I’ll happily give this one a go!
Lime Crime Matte Velvetine in Pumpkin (RRP £16)
I wouldn’t have bought this for myself but I’m happy to try it out. So far, I love the colour but I’m finding it super drying!
NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette (RRP £16)
I haven’t opened this yet as I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it. I like the look of the colours and I swatched it in Boots the other day but I have so many highlights to use up, I’m not sure this would get used!
Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist (RRP £16)
Like primers, setting sprays are something I’m always trying out so this will get some use once I’ve got through some of my others!
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecting Liquid in Opal (RRP £34 full size)
I’m a bit disappointed I didn’t get the powder version of this since I bought myself Champagne Pop instead and hoped I’d get to try both shades out, however liquid highlight is something I haven’t really experimented with much so I’m still excited to try this! It looks like there’s such a tiny amount in the sample bottle though!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel (RRP £23 full size)
I already have a sample of this on the go so another one is a welcome bonus since it’s unlikely I’ll ever pay the full £23 for it. I like this for days when I really need my brows to stay in place but it is very sticking!
Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser (RRP £39)
Another brand I’ve heard good things about but way out of my normal price range. I’m expecting good things! Quite surprised to see this is full sized too!
The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane (RRP £5.50)
I have no idea what squalane is or what it does for skin but I’m hoping I’ll like it as the price tag is looking a lot healthier for repurchasing!
Skyn Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels (RRP £25 full size)
This is a good way to try these as the full size comes with 8 packs. £25 for 8 doesn’t sound that bad either if I like them!
Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream (RRP £70 full size)
That full size price tag makes me feel a bit dizzy! I’m always excited to try out new skincare but I hope I don’t fall in love with this as it’s doubtful I’d ever spend that much on a single item!
Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner (RRP £30 full size)
Toners are hard to gather an opinion on when they come in sample size but I love the cute spray bottle packaging and can see this being a good size for travel.
Oskia Citylife I-Zone Balm (RRP £55 full size)
Another one I doubt I’ll be repurchasing based on the price but the description of this sounds interesting! It’s an eye and lip cream designed to deflect the effects of pollution on skin.
Sunday Riley Good Genes (RRP £85 full size)
The price tag of the full size makes me feel ill so again something I’m hoping I won’t love! Sunday Riley are a really hyped brand but I’m glad I get to try this sample out first!
DCL Hydra Boost Finishing Serum (RRP £98 full size)
This sample is tiny but I can see why with that full size price tag! Even this tiny bottle must be worth about £18 which is crazy! I’m not entirely sure what this is for after reading the description but I have a lot of skincare to try out!
Touch in Sol Metallist Shadow Liquid Foil & Glitter Duo (RRP £20 full size)
This looks really cute. I love glitter! Probably not something I’ll use very often but it might be handy for glam makeup on the go!
Nudestix Eye Pencil (RRP £24)
I’m not sure which colour I have but they all look fairly neutral on the website. This is a multi-purpose pencil which isn’t usually my thing but I’ll give it a go!
This sort of reminded me of a subscription box with the mixture of skincare and makeup and I was surprised how many full size goodies there are to try! I’m not sure if these products really are the best of 2017 but I’m sure I’ll find some gems in this lot!
Let me know if there’s a certain product you’d like me to review!
