Like many other lazy brush cleaners out there, I do have a larger-than-necessary brush collection so that I can always have a clean brush to hand. But I do have a few that I’d consider favourites when it comes to applying makeup.
Ovonni blush brush
This is from the first large brush set I ever bought (here on Amazon) and I mostly ignored the face brushes until recently when I discovered this large fluffy brush is definitely the way to apply blusher without that clown look.
I just checked the image on Amazon which tells you what brushes are for what and it looks like this one is actually intended as a blush brush which I hadn’t even realised!
Real Techniques Setting Brush
There’s a whole lot of RT in this post but I think this was probably the first brush of theirs that I truly loved. I used to use it for blending concealer but it’s great for its intended purpose too!
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
Most of the time, I prefer a sponge for applying foundation but there are times when I want to use a brush and this is always the one I grab.
Real Techniques Contour Brush
I’m not sure if I’ve ever actually used this for contour. I used to use it for blending concealer like the setting brush before I discovered the beauty of a highlighter and now I use it all the time for highlighting.
Real Techniques Bold Metals 203 Brush
This has become my favourite brush to use in the crease. It’s the perfect size and softness for a general blended crease.
Ovonni Angled Eyeshadow Brush
I checked the name of this one too but it’s pretty self-explanatory. It’s ideal for use in the crease due to its precise angled shape and it’s also nice and soft.
Spectrum A12 Brush
I love all my Spectrum eye brushes but I thought I would feature this on as it’s pretty unique. I use it when I need to be more precise in my crease.
Spectrum A17 Brush
This is the brow brush I use with pomades. I find it easier to use than some of my other brow brushes and it’s not too soft and applies product evenly.
The Body Shop Eyeshadow Crease Brush
I hated this when I first got it as it’s not too soft and doesn’t feel like the right shape to use in the crease. But then I’m pretty sure I saw a blogger or YouTuber talking about using it as a highlight brush for the nose and brow bone etc. and I gave it a go and it’s perfect for that!
What are your favourite brushes? x
The Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is so pretty! I have a similar style brush and it is the best for applying foundation with!

It just works for buffing foundation into the skin!
