Decluttering my Makeup Collection

Hello, lovelies! Since my lipstick declutter, I’ve been meaning to clear out the rest of my makeup collection to make way for all that new stuff I’ve just ordered since I’m back in employment next week.

I was hoping I’d have enough for separate posts but it seems decluttering is hard so here’s everything I’ve managed to get rid of so far!

PS…The Nudes Eye Paint in Whipped

Absolutely nothing against these cream shadows, I love the other shades I have but this is just a weird grey colour. I thought it might work as an eye base but no…it just looks odd so into the declutter!

L’Oreal Infallible Eye Paint in Vicious Gold

I mentioned this in my sunshine eyes look as it didn’t perform how I wanted on the eyes and I know I’m not going to be reaching for it. Again, nothing against this range as I have other colours I love- just not this one.

Physician’s Formula Butter Highlight in Champagne

I’m sad to let this one go but it’s just that bit too glittery for me and can look like I’ve just swiped glitter over my face by the end of the night.

New CiD Mascara & PS…Saints & Sinners Mascara

Life is too short to waste it on bad mascaras and neither of these really do anything for my lashes. As someone with fairly long lashes, I can usually make most mascaras work but I prefer those quick volumising types.

The Primark mascara is probably up there with the worst I’ve tried but I wasn’t expecting it perform well considering it cost about 50p. I wanted more from the New CiD with its £20 RRP (I got it in a subscription box) but it was just average.

PS…Radiant Glow Highlight

I’ve mentioned before that I didn’t get on with this highlight as it was just too subtle for me. I’ve since crushed it up for making my own glowy facial mists or body sprays and it’s been put to much better use!

PS…Chocolate Bronzer

I feel bad for including so much Primark makeup but I do try tons of their stuff and I love a lot of the products! This is really shimmery so I thought it would make a better highlight but it doesn’t look right on my skintone and I’m not a fan of shimmery bronzers.

Revlon Insta Fix Foundation Stick

I’m not a huge lover of foundation sticks anyway but this one gives virtually no coverage for the amount of work it takes to blend and I managed to drop it so the foundation is now loose from the packaging.

Nip + Fab Highlight Palette

This one might be a tempory decision since I really haven’t had this long but I’m not sure what it is I didn’t like about this palette- I think I just prefer others and never reach for it.

Eyeshadow palettes

Zoeva Mixed Metals

I really liked the formula of these and the colours are pretty but I struggled to create a look with them. I did consider depotting these to use with other shades in my custom palettes so I might still do that if I can’t sell this or find a good home for it.

I Heart Makeup Faux Fur Naked Underneath

I held onto this for so long because it’s the only cool toned palette I have and because of that one pretty rose gold shade but it’s not worth keeping for that in the end!

Makeup Revolution Salvation Welcome to the Pleasuredome

I got this in a free mystery bag so it’s no great loss but I don’t really like the colours and never use this.

Makeup Revolution Flawless Resurrection 3

It seems I really liked the rose gold shades in this palette too but it’s a bit too neutral for my tastes now. If I want a subtle look, I tend to go for those shades in other palettes so no point holding onto this one.

Sleek I Divine

Again, the formula of Sleek eyeshadows is really good but I never reach for this palette! Hopefully, I can find it a home where it will be more loved.

  1. I hate highlighters that are too glittery too. Is there a more “wet” looking one that you would recommend?
I have a ton of Sleek palettes too, but I never reach out for them any more. I think there’s just so many eyeshadow palettes out there, it’s hard to resist the temptation of buying all the new releases…

    1. The Becca ones are some of my favourites and I recently got an Ofra highlight to try but I also think Revolution generally get highlights right. Eyeshadow palettes are my weakness there’s no way I’ll ever use all the ones I have…
