Product Empties #11 July 2018

Another month, another empties post! This is going to be a long one with tons of products to get through but I adore reading about other people’s trash so I hope you feel the same…

Makeup

PS…Primer Water

I really liked this spray. I’m not fully sold on priming and setting sprays for makeup longevity but this made my skin feel nice and was great to have on hand for dampening my brushes and sponges etc. as it’s just £2!

Repurchase? Definitely, if they still have it in my Primark!

Revolution Pro Extreme Hold Finishing Spray

I don’t have much to say about this spray. It’s okay but I didn’t notice any ‘extreme hold’ results on my makeup.

Repurchase? Probably not

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

I really like this concealer- the shade was just about right to get away with using it under my eyes and on blemishes. I’m not a massive lover of the packaging as it has a brush tip but I think I would use this again.

Repurchase? Yes

Touch in Sol Metallist Glitter Shadow Duo mini

This was a cute mini eye duo but the liquid shadow side dried out so quickly! I have the full size in a different shade and I’m worried that will dry up too but this was seriously stunning!

Repurchase? If it last longer, yes

Sleek Power Plump Lip Crayon Fully Fuchsia

Yes, I know there’s still a visible amount of product left but I got frustrated with this. It stopped sharpening properly and was constantly breaking so it was too hard to use.

Repurchase? No

Skincare

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream mini

My thoughts on this moisturiser are always going to come back to that ridiculous price tag on the full size. Do I think it’s a good product? Yes, I loved it. Do I think it’s worth the money? Nope.

Repurchase? Not at that price but would use again

The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Toner

I stopped using this as an everyday toner as it was a bit much for my skin but I put it in a spray bottle and loved using it to make sure my skin was prepped and ready for cosplay makeup or special occasions.

Repurchase? Yes

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser

I wanted to try a foaming cleansing but I did find it a bit too drying. If you like foaming cleansers and tea tree though, this would be ideal.

Repurchase? No

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads

I’ve been through a few of these and my skin always gets on with them. I haven’t noticed the effects as much recently so I’ll probably hold off on repurchasing.

Repurchase? Yes in the future

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo

I loved this the first time I tried it about a year ago but it just didn’t seem to work as well as I remembered this time. I’ve been suffering from a huge hormonal breakout so it probably wasn’t the best time to test it out again.

Repurchase? I have the SPF version already

Mario Badescu Silver Powder mini

I was never entirely sure what this did. It doesn’t do anything to clear blackheads but, in fairness, I think its intended use is to keep the skin clear of blackheads after you’ve removed them.

Repurchase? No

Boots Cucumber Eye Gel

For £1.50, I was really impressed with this eye gel. It’s really refreshing and hydrating if that’s what you look for in an eye cream. Sadly, I’m 27 and need something that’s going to work on my fine lines a little better but this would be amazing on younger skin.

Repurchase? Maybe

Clinique Moisture Surge mini

I enjoyed using this mini as it was so hydrating and sank into the skin quickly. It was quite good for dabbing a little product over makeup when I’d overdone it with powder too.

Repurchase? Yes

Haircare

Avon Naturals 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner

A good travel option but I’m not a big lover of 2 in 1 products.

Repurchase? Nah

VO5 Curl Defining Mousse

I’ve had this quite a long time and feel like it used to do more for me but now my hair usually does what it’s told and curls nicely on its own. If your waves do need a bit of persuasion though, I would recommend this.

Repurchase? Maybe in the future

Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo

A classic in my empties posts, this needs no further gushing because I love it!

Repurchase? Always

Superdrug Intensive Colour Conditioner

This is one of those conditioners that comes with a hair dye packet but I ended up throwing the dye out and just keeping this. It does the job but nothing amazing.

Bath & Body

Superdrug Mojito Bath & Shower Gel

I wasn’t over keen on the scent of this. I’m drawn to anything mojito but this was a bit too lime-y. It was a nice shower gel though but I’ll probably try a different fragrance next time.

Repurchase? I have another to use but probably not

Soap & Glory Clean on me Body Lotion

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate me finishing this off. Products this size are always daunting but I enjoyed using this so it wasn’t a struggle to use up.

Repurchase? Maybe when I get through my other shower gels

Avon Skin so Soft Enhance & Glow Airbrush Spray

This was very similar to their normal dry oil spray but with added glow. I’m not a big lover of tanning products but this one was natural enough for me to keep using it and left my skin hydrated.

Repurchase? Maybe in the future

Sol de Janeiro Acai Body Powder Cream sample

I was sold on this sample. It smells amazing, sinks into the skin quickly and gave me a gorgeous healthy shimmer. Definitely interested in picking up the full size of this or the famous Bum Bum Cream.

Repurchase? Yes

Misc

Britney Spears Circus Fantasy Perfume

I know what you’re thinking but I haven’t had this that long. I actually really enjoy Britney’s fragrances but this one probably isn’t my favourite.

Repurchase? Probably not

PS…Moisturising Avocado Sheet Mask

This was a decent pamper time sort of mask that left my skin feeling fresh but nothing amazing. Primark face masks are so cheap though, I will definitely keep trying them!

Repurchase? Yes

Avon Sugar Plum & Vanilla Room Spray

I love Avon’s room sprays but this fragrance wasn’t my favourite.

Repurchase? No

PS…Oval Cotton Pads

A product staple…nothing else to say on these really!

Repurchase? Yep

PS…Argon Facial Cleansing Wipes

I didn’t use these much on my face so can’t comment on how good they are for dry skin like they claim but they smelt nice and did the job!

Repurchase? Yes

    1. I know I find it so interesting! I actually love using products up as much as I love buying them! I’ll probably get another one of those concealers when I’ve cleared out the backlog…
