The July 2018 Beauty Edit

What with starting a new job and life getting busy, I’ve barely had time to sort out my usual monthly makeup stash post. I’ve been spending my paydays on new makeup and have loads of new faves and new things to try. Today’s post is going to be a hybrid of the two- discussing what I was using and what I loved in July!

Foundation: PS…My Perfect Colour Velvet Finish Foundation

The packaging of this dropper foundation is bloody awful. I don’t know if I just got a dodgy one but the dropper does nothing and I end up having to pour it out anyway. I remember not really liking this when I got it but I really loved using it in July. It’s medium coverage and doesn’t look too heavy on my skin.

Concealer: Bourjois Radiance Reveal

A rediscovered classic. I cracked open a new bottle of this recently and I’d forgotten how much I used to love it. It’s a bit pricier than other drugstore concealers but it’s my favourite for brightening.

Powder: Becca Hydra Mist Set & Refresh Powder

This powder is the weirdest experience ever! It literally feels like putting water on your face but it really does perform as a powder and keeps my makeup set all day.

Bronzer: Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer

When I got this, I liked it but it soon got pushed to the back of my drawer. I pulled it out again recently and I’m so much more impressed than I was at first! This blends into the skin perfectly, smells incredible and has that added glow which I love. This could be set to replace my beloved The Body Shop Honey Bronzer!

Eyes: Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Palette

I received this cute mini palette in the Cult Beauty 10th Birthday goody bag and I really wasn’t convinced I was going to love it at first. With an RRP of £25 for a tiny handheld palette, it’s not something I would have bought myself on a whim but I’m glad I got to try it and I’m so impressed with the formula! The shimmer shades are all quite similar so I think I would have liked more variety there but the mattes are incredible.

Mascara: L’Oreal Miss Manga

Although I wouldn’t say this is my favourite, I do think it’s an underrated and very versatile mascara. When built up, this gives that full, doll-like look that can be so dramatic but I’ve been loving using it to quickly coat my lashes on a morning for a natural, feathery look.

Lips: ColourPop Lux Lipsticks

I have three of these and the formula is incredible! Not the most long-lasting of lipsticks so probably not for you if that’s an essential for you but so comfortable and gorgeous to wear. Love them!

What are you beauty favourites at the moment? x

  1. Amazing favorites!!! I love Colourpop’s lux lipsticks, the formula is really good for the low price and the packaging is very nice!! I am very curious to try that Becca powder, it seems interesting, is it more on the hydrating side?

  2. I absolutely LOVE the butter bronzer!!!! I really want to try that Becca powder! I have one of the nude lux lipsticks from the zodiac collection and I am enjoying it. I really want to try one of the Huda palettes… I’ve heard good things.
