Although I try to declutter my makeup collection fairly regularly, I seem to have wandered into the crazy makeup lady realm of hoarding products and, even though I like a lot of these things, I’m just never going to use all of them!
Some of these things will be made better use of in my costume makeup kit and other things I try to donate to friends where I can.
Base products
Jordana 2-in-1 Foundation & Concealer
I never reach for this. It’s not bad but I have products I prefer for coverage. Plus it’s super yellow!
ColourPop No Filter Foundation
I didn’t get along with this and I have too many other foundations in my collection to try and make it work.
The Body Shop All in One BB Cream
I pretty much never think to use a BB Cream, even after adding this to my everyday stash over the summer so I know it won’t get used as we head into the colder months.
Freedom Oil Control Base
I have combination skin so I only tend to get oily around my nose and forehead and this made zero difference so it was pointless keeping it!
Essence Colour Correcting Concealer
I haven’t really used this since I did a testing Essence makeup post but I know I won’t be reaching for it when I have concealers I prefer the coverage of,
Face products
PS…Pure Glow Highlighters in Champagne and Brunch Club
I actually really enjoy the formula of these but I have way too many highlighters to give these the love they deserve. I kept two of the four shades I had, opting to declutter these ones as I felt they suited my skin tone the least.
I Heart Revolution Glow Hearts Radiance
This is quite a unique shade that I do like but this highlight verges too far on the glittery side for me.
Tarte Glowlight Amazonian Clay Luminizing Wand
I got this in a subscription box and it is a pretty shade but I found it quite tricky to work with and I don’t have that sort of time when I’m usually in a rush to do my makeup.
Maybelline Master Strobing Stick
I did like this but I rarely reach for cream highlight and the shade is really similar to my L’Oreal one that I prefer so I didn’t need both.
Kiko Free Soul Highlight
This is quite new so maybe I haven’t given it enough of a chance but it’s one of those multicolour highlight compacts and all the shades are super pigmented so I think it’s a touch too dark for me.
L’Oreal Le Blush
I put this in my products I’m trying to use up and I have managed to hit pan but it was becoming a chore to use it as I have other blushes I prefer now.
Palettes
Sleek Colour Correcting Palette
I’ve reached for this approximately zero times so it might work out in my costume makeup kit but I have no use for it for everyday.
Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette
I used to love this palette and I have hit pan on a couple of the shades but it just looks so icy on me now and I have highlights that suit me more.
PS…Chocolate Cheek Palette
I haven’t used this since declaring that I was going to keep it and try and reach for it. It’s not a bad palette but I rarely use things like this.
Revolution Ultra Blush Palette Golden Sugar
I have a few of these and I opted to get rid of this one since I barely use any of them and this is the one with my least favourite shades.
Brows
Barry M Take a Brow & New Look Brush on Brows
I’ve paired these two brow gels together because I find both of them messy and just hard to work with compared to others I love.
New Look Highlighting Brow Pencil
I’ve tried to use this up but I just never reach for a separate highlighting product for my brows.
Revolution Pomade
This was the first brow pomade I tried and it’s not a bad product but it’s not quite the right shade for me.
Eyes
Maybelline Color Tattoos in On & On Bronze and Pink Gold
I like these but I have other cream eyeshadows I prefer and they just weren’t getting used.
Revlon ColorStay Eye Liner
I have so many black eyeliners that I don’t use and this one had gone all dry and scratchy
PS…Volumising Mascara
I’m not sure why I bought this because I could tell it wasn’t going to be good!
Rimmel Scandaleyes Kate Moss Pencil Rose Gold
This is a stunning colour but I just never use products like this.
L’Oreal Infallible Eye Paint in Sunset Goals
This is such a stunning summery orange shade but I never reached for it once this summer so I know I’m not going to miss it.
Lips
ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Frick n Frack
I really wanted to love this shade but it just does not suit me!
New Look Matte Lipstick Terracotta
I really love this colour but the packaging is broken and the lipstick looked like it was starting to go off which is a shame.
NYX Liquid Suede Honeymoon
I got this mini as a free gift but this cool-toned colour doesn’t suit me at all.
Revolution Renaissance Lipstick Greatest
This is a well-loved shade but I don’t think it suits me and I prefer the newer packaging.
I Heart Revolution Mermaid Lipstick Aquadasiac
This is one of those lipsticks that applies as your ideal pink shade but it’s incredibly glittery and just not wearable except for those times when I actually want to look like a mermaid.
