The Best Liquid Eyeshadows on the Market

It seems like almost every brand has released some version of the liquid eyeshadow now and, while I haven’t tried everything, I have discovered a few favourites that are all good for different purposes. Read on to find out what the best liquid eyeshadows currently on the market are.

Best for…all-out glam

Stila Glitter & Glow (£23, Boots)

The Stila shadows are cult favourites and the shade I have (Smouldering Satin) is super glittery and pretty. This one does come with the downside of glitter fallout after a few hours so I tend to only wear it for special occasions but this particular shade is way too glittery and glam for everyday anyway!

Best for….budget-friendly

Essence Metal Shock (£3.50, Wilkinsons)

These retail for just £3.50 and hold up just as well as the pricier options. There aren’t many shades available, or at least not in the UK, and I don’t think the colours I have suit me as much as some of my other faves but the formula is faultless.

Best for…bright colours

BH Cosmetics Eye Lights (£7, Beauty Bay)

The shade selection is relatively small but these £7 cuties are some of the brightest I’ve seen for liquid shadows, favouring shimmer and sparkle just as much as high pigment.

Best for….glam in a rush

Cover FX Shimmer Veil (£20, Beauty Bay)

This shadow glides on easily with one swipe and gives weightless, effortless shimmer to my lids. Perfect for those days when I need instant glam before I run out of the house!

Best for….subtle shimmer

Barry M Holographic Eyeshadow Toppers (£4.99, Superdrug)

Sometimes you just need that extra something for your eye look, and these affordable eyeshadow toppers from Barry M bring just that. They’re a subtle wash of shimmer in galactic holographic colours that aren’t too pigmented. Full review linked above!

Some swatches of my faves:

L-R: Barry M Luna, Cover FX Moon Stone, Stila Smoldering Satin, BH Gal Pal, BH Gnarly

  1. I wish i bought the gold shade, but it was always sold out for so long I never caught it. For a drugstore product it is a 10/10 and nice review!
