Product Empties #19 March 2019

After a fairly slow start to the year in terms of using up products, March was crazy with something biting the dust almost every day! There’s also some more exciting products I’ve used up in this instalment too from makeup and skincare as well as the usual boring bubble bath and cleansing wipes.

Enjoy!

Makeup

Charlotte Tilbury The Magic Foundation

I’m just glad to have reached the end of this bottle finally! This was a nice foundation and the shade 03 was perfect for me but I don’t think it’s anything special compared to much cheaper options.

Repurchase? No

Too Faced Funfetti Lip Gloss Mocha Freeze

I got this in a Look Incredible box and I instantly fell in love with it. It rediscovered my love of gloss but since then I’ve found others I prefer more.

Repurchase? This is discontinued except on the Look Increbile website so no

Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer

This was in my project pan so I’m glad to have finished it off. This hydrating jelly primer felt nice on the skin and makeup applies nicely on top of it but it’s not my favourite primer for the price.

Repurchase? No

BECCA Set & Refresh Powder

Another project pan item gone! I loved this at first but it soon loses the hydrating water-like feel on the skin. It is one of the better loose powders I’ve tried for setting my face without looking cakey or dry.

Repurchase? Maybe

MAC Prep & Prime Natural Radiance Yellow

I really liked this primer sample. It felt hydrating on my skin and I like the way my makeup looked applied over the top, but I’m not sure it’s worth the £35 for the full size.

Repurchase? No, but would use again

Avon Glimmerstick Eye Definer Black

I didn’t realise I’d got through a whole eyeliner because I never really use this anymore but I think I did some Halloween and costume looks with it so there was only a tiny bit left.

Repurchase? No

Glamglow Setting Mist

I wanted to love this after I’d heard such positive things but it just didn’t perform for me much better than any other setting spray. The mist was amazing though- super fine and it dried on the skin quickly and felt hydrating so I guess there are positives and I’m glad I got to try this.

Repurchase? No

I Heart Revolution Fixing Spray Guava & Rose

This wasn’t my fave scent but I do like these fixing sprays for melting powder products on my face.

Repurchase? Not this scent

Skincare

Clinique Take The Day Off Balm

I’m not a fan of blam makeup removers but this is the best one I’ve tried if they’re your thing. There is a little bit left in this mini but it smelt weird and had gone a weird texture so I think it’s just past its best (I got it in September).

Repurchase? No

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

This is the only one from the mini set I bought that I would consider purchasing in full size. It’s really refreshing and brightening on the skin but it did make my skin feel like it was burning a bit.

Repurchase? Maybe

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel Sample

I thought I was going to get loads out of this sachet but it was only enough for one application even though there seemed to be quite a lot of product in here.

Repurchase? No

TonyMoly Banana Seeping Pack

As I said in my review of this product, I found it a bit too rich for my skin and I’m not sure if it was breaking me out or not.

Repurchase? No

Freedom Pro Studio Glycolic Toner

This is a glycolic toner that I used to love but I think I prefer Superdrug Naturally Radiant as an affordable alternative to Pixi Glow Tonic.

Repurchase? No

Haircare

Neutrogena T-Gel

I’m sure you’ve seen me talk about this product enough times. It’s a medicated shampoo but it’s the only thing that works for my flaky scalp.

Repurchase? Yes

Schwartzkopf Gliss Shampoo & Conditioner

I picked this combo up in a pound shop not expecting much but I was impressed by how nice these products made my hair feel.

Repurchase? Yes

Bath & Body

Soap & Glory The Greatest Scrub of All

I’ve used this before and it’s alright. Not my favourite scrub but it does the job.

Repurchase? No

Asda Stress Relief Bubble Bath

This is a bubble bath from Asda’s own range and I liked it just as much the Radox product it’s trying to dupe.

Repurchase? Yes

Sanctuary Spa Body Wash

I’ve used this before in minature form and never really formed much of an opinion but I liked it a lot more in full-size. I love the bottle and I like the scent of this and the little beads in the product that burst.

Repurchase? Maybe

Sanctuary Spa Luxury Bath Foat

I’ve had a few of this minis and the product is nice enough but I hate the stiff plastic bottle packaging which makes it so hard to squeeze product out!

Repurchase? No

Wilko Fruits Watermelon & Guava Shower Gel

This was just a basic everyday shower gel but I love this super affordable range from Wilko.

Repurchase? Yes

Primark Mary Poppins A Spoonful of Sugar Scrub

I’m so glad that Primark has so much Disney stuff in but this scrub wasn’t for me sadly. It was like a wet sand consistency that just went everywhere!

Repurchase? No

Masks&Wipes&Misc

20190331_164635.jpg

I’m not going to talk about this lot individually but I liked everything. The Primark sponges aren’t the best out there but I can always find a use for them and the Bird’s Nest mask wasn’t my favourite but I do really like the Skinfood masks.

Skinfood Horse Fat Sheet Mask

Skinfood Bird’s Nest Sheet Mask

PS…Salicylic Acid Sheet Mask

PS…Glow Wipes

Lacura Cleansing Facial Wipes

Primark Deep Cleansing Nose Strips

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and 2 x Primark sponges

Well done if you made it to the end of this mega empties! Let me know your thoughts if you’ve ever used these products.

  1. It’s a shame that the Charlotte tilbury foundation wasn’t worth the money – I debated getting it but decided against it. I also agree about the soap & glory scrub. It’s not amazing but it’s okay. I won’t repurchase it once I’ve used it up. You got through a lot of stuff xxx
