Testing primers is an odd favourite of mine, and I have quite a collection from the pore-filling to the hydrating base. I’m always on the lookout for a dupe of my fave Lancome Prep & Hydrate, and this affordable Reviving and Anti Fatigue Illuminating Primer in warm apricot from Collection looked promising.
Packaging
The Collection Primed & Ready range of primers all come in a plastic squeezy tube with a hard plastic cap. The name of the product is clear and simple in its display on the front of the tube and it’s obvious which shade you’re getting with the apricot colour and lettering on the front.
Price
This primer retails for £4.99 for 25ml of product, putting it firmly in the affordable category.
Application
The texture is a cream formula and the apricot shade is, as you’d expect, a pale apricot shade that blends colourless on the skin. When first applied to the face, this primer is more mattifying than I expected for something which claims to be illuminating.
Wear
This makes a nice base for applying makeup, but I feel like it doesn’t really do anything else. Its claims of being radiant don’t show at all on me and I would say this is more mattifying than anything. I haven’t really noticed that it makes my makeup last any longer or apply much differently.
Overall, this is an affordable primer so I’m not too bad that it didn’t really work out for me. I think if you’re just after something to use as a base, this does the job but it sure isn’t the radiance I was expecting.
It’s a shame this doesn’t give you much of a radiance! Xx
