5 Spring/Summer Makeup Essentials

In the transition period between Spring and Summer, the weather can be hit and miss here in the UK. Recently, it’s definitely been more of a miss! But I have high hopes that warmer weather will arrive, and I’ve put together a list of my top five makeup essentials for the Spring/Summer period.

MUA Pro Base Soothe & Cool Primer Stick (£5, Superdrug)

I’m obsessed with testing primers and this is the only primer I’ve tried in cooling stick form. Not only does it feel nice and cool to apply, but it’s also super quick and primes my face faster than waiting for a cream or silicone base to sink in.

MUA Blushed Liquid Cream Blusher (£2.50,Superdrug)

I’ve never been a huge cream blush person but I find this is easy to apply and won’t melt off my skin as quickly as powder blush can in the heat. I have this in the shade Misty Rose, which is a pretty, subtle pink.

ColourPop Supershook Highlight ($8, ColourPop)

Cream highlights are also a go-to in the summer and my fave is the shade On The Cusp from the Kathleen Lights Zodiac collection. I find it easiest to apply this highlighter with my fingers or a sponge for an effortless blinding glow.

Morphe Continuous Setting Mist (£15, Morphe)

If you haven’t tried this aerosol-style setting mist yet, I really recommend it. I’m not sure it’s the best at setting my makeup but it feels so fresh and cooling. Perfect for use on hot days! Or any day, really!

Facial SPF

This is such an important one to mention. I know it’s not makeup but it is essential before I apply makeup, even on days when you can’t see the sun! I’m currently using the Etude House Sunprise (£11, Amazon).
