When I did a Lookfantastic haul, I said the main reason for ordering was to pick up this highlight. Previously released in one of their face palette trios, Benefit Cookie was a much-hyped shade along with its sister highlighter in the deeper shade Tickle.
Packaging
This highlight is packaged in the same square card box as all of Benefit’s face powders. This design is very unique and instantly identifiable to Benefit but I’m not personally the biggest fan of it. I find the box can be a bit clumsy to close and takes up more space than it needs to. Inside, you do get a mirror and a small dense brush.
Price
Benefit Cookie retails for £26 in the UK for 8g of product. Benefit is obviously a highend brand so you can expect to pay more for their products, but you can find this cheaper as most popular retailers like Boots, Debenhams and Look Fantastic all have regular offers on.
Application
This highlighter applies beautifully with minimal effort. I’ve never used the brush that comes with it and can’t imagine how well that would work but it looks stunning when applied with a small highlighting brush.
Cookie is a blinding champagne shade with a very soft texture. If you have fair to light skin, I think you will like this but I don’t think it will look as blinding on deeper skintones.
Wear
On me, this lasts all day over my normal primer/foundation/power routine. I think the intensity fades just as much as any other highlighter does but it still looks very pretty.
Do you need it?
Overall, I think Benefit Cookie is a stunning highlight. The tone is really unusual and the closest dupe I could find in my collection is the highlight from the Flower Beauty Lift and Sculpt Palette. If you can allow the splurge and you don’t already own a highlighter similar to this one, it’s definitely one I can recommend.
