You might know I’m a huge fan of Primark makeup, but my local store is tiny and doesn’t usually get all the shiny new stuff. I spotted these blush duos when shopping in a larger store and quickly snapped up what was left. I can’t see a shade name on this but they do have different versions available with more bronzey and highlight shades. I picked up the Blush & Beam Matte & Illuminating Blush Duo.
Packaging
Blush & Beam Blush Duos come in plastic square packaging with a clear lid. The plastic does look cheap but that’s kind of expected with a cheaper product. Two separate pans for the matte blush and illuminating blush sit inside.
Price
These blush duos retail for £2.50 in Primark stores. £1.25 per blush is incredible value, and you get 5.5g of each which is a decent amount for the price.
Application
Looking at the two shades, they appear more like a subtle shimmer blush and a highlight or blush topper rather than two blushers. The matte shade is definitely not fully matte and has a bit of sparkle to it when applied. As for the illuminating shade, it’s a bit too chunky for me. I can use it very lightly as a blush topper, but too much and it looks too chunky and glittery. I also tried it out as a highlighter but I had the same problem. Both of these powders feel quite chalky and there’s a lot of kickup in the pan.
Wear
Because the heavy shimmer of these blushers tends to accentuate texture on my face, they do stay put fairly well but fade down to nothing but shimmery pores which isn’t a good look for me.
Overall, I’m disappointed that I didn’t really get on with this product. I love Primark makeup and I loved the idea of this blusher duo but it just didn’t suit my personal preferences. I prefer blush to have a subtle sheen rather than full on chunky shimmer, but you may like this if shimmery blush is your thing.
