I’d really like to get back into filming empties but February came and went so quickly that I thought it was best to just get this post written up. If you want to see what I used up and whether I’d repurchase, keep reading.
Skincare
Lancome Tonique Confort
This is a gorgeous hydrating toner that lasted ages in this 400ml size but it’s Lancome and it’s super pricey and I probably don’t need it…
Repurchase? Maybe
Lancome Eau Micellaire
Another expensive skincare product from Lancome is this micellar water. I thought this was going to be a foaming micellar water like the Sanctuary one but it was more similar to another French brand- the SVR Physiopure micellar water which I adore. The Lancome one is great but it’s pricier than my fave SVR and I love that one more.
Repurchase? No
Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Mask
This is the last mini from the set of PTR masks I bought in the 2018 Black Friday sales. I liked it but I do have a dupe to try before I decide if it’s worth the money.
Repurchase? Maybe
Kiko Blurring Face Cream
Stunning packaging, gorgeous scent that reminded me of Palma Violets and nice gel-like texture that smoothed skin and blurred pores. I don’t really use blurring products like this anymore but I’d definitely consider Kiko skincare again if they still do it.
Repurchase? No
Makeup
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
This concealer lasted forever and I loved it under the eyes for its lightweight and hydrating qualities. Bourjois is no longer going to be sold in the UK which is sad as I find a lot of concealers too thick and heavy under my eyes.
Repurchase? Can still get it but probably won’t
Barry M Holographic Eyeshadow Topper
There might be a tiny bit of product left in here but it’s mostly dried up. With a product like this, you don’t need a lot so I appreciate the mini size and small price tag. Really recommend these as an affordable alternative to the Stila liquid shadows.
Repurchase? Yes when I’ve used up some others
Avon Supershock Max Mascara
This Avon mascara is way past its sell-by date even if there is a bit of product left. Supershock was my favourite mascara for years and it’s still a good affordable option but I have others I prefer now.
Repurchase? Maybe
L’Oreal Brow Artist Xpert Pencil in Ebony
I used to use this brow pencil but it just doesn’t compare to my fave Maybelline Brow Satin anymore.
Repurchase? No
PS…Brow Sketch
Really recommend this skinny brow pencil if they’re your thing. It doesn’t have a particularly impressive shade selection or fancy packaging but for £2, it’s just as good as the pricier options I’ve tried.
Repurchase? Yes
Morphe Continuous Setting Mist
I love this stuff! If you haven’t tried this, you should! It’s not the most incredible setting spray ever but the cooling mist effect and how my makeup looks is just unbeatable.
Repurchase? Yes, but I’m trying to make myself use other sprays up first
PS…Watermelon Primer Water
There was a product recall for these primer waters a while ago but it was only specific batch numbers and the one I have wasn’t affected. I didn’t really notice a difference between this and the original primer water but I used this a lot for wetting brushes and sponges rather than on my face.
Repurchase? Yes but probably the original one
Haircare
Scwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Liquid Silk Shampoo & Conditioner
These are the go-to cheap option that I pick up from the pound shop when I’m not using anything special.
Repurchase? Probably
Percy & Reed Wonder Overnight Recovery
Hair treatments like this rarely work for me and this was no exception. I never used it overnight because I don’t wash my hair on a morning but maybe this works better if you do.
Repurchase? No
Batise Blush Dry Shampoo
This mini dry shampoo was good to have on hand for travel or to chuck in a handbag etc but it soon ran out and it’s expensive for the amount you get.
Repurchase? Probably not in this size
Avon Apricot Leave-In Treatment
I used this more as a conditioning mask than as a leave-in so I got through it a bit too quickly and it wasn’t as effective as I’d liked.
Repurchase? No
Bath & Body
Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
I’m sad that I’ve finished this mini body cream off as the smell is incredible and it sinks into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave me feeling sticky. It’s super expensive to repurchase and I have tons of body lotions to use but I hope to pick up a bigger size at some point.
Repurchase? Yes
Superdrug Vitamin E In Shower Body Cleanser
This is a foam body wash that I was really excited to try but it was a bit disappointing. The texture and scent is pretty much just shaving foam and I didn’t think it did much really.
Repurchase? No
Soap & Glory Clean On Me Creamy Shower Gel
This huge bottle has been sitting on the side of the bath for ages now so I was kind of glad to finish it up so I can try something else. I love S&G stuff though so I would return to a product like this in future.
Repurchase? Maybe
Asda Under The Sea Shower Oil
I picked this up in the January sales so I assume this line of Lush-inspired bath products is discontinued but I did like some of the things. I’m not convinced of what this bath oil did but I like the luxury of adding this kind of product.
Baylis & Harding Shower Creme
I forget what scent this was but I managed to use it up in literally two goes as it’s a jelly consistency that slides out of your hands.
