March Empties 2020

Once again I’m starting an empties post with an excuse about not filming what I used this month. I don’t think anyone could have predicted what happened here in the UK and around the world but now I’m at home in lockdown and using fewer products so I just felt like I didn’t use anything interesting enough to film!

Skincare

Simple Micellar Water

This is okay- just a basic micellar water really. I don’t really love Simple as a brand but I think the packaging of this micellar water is a really cute collab with Little Mix and surely that will convince younger people to use this over face wipes?

Repurchase? Nah but would use again in a pinch

Revolution Aloe Vera & Water Lily Soothing Face Mask

I liked the gel texture of this and it did feel really soothing on angry skin days. Something I’ve noticed before with Revolution face masks is how quickly I get through them though.

Repurchase? Maybe

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream

I’ve had this mini hanging around the bathroom for far too long. It’s not my typical sort of exfoliator- it is more of a cream with scrub beads in it- but I didn’t dislike it.

Repurchase? Probably not

Peter Thomas Roth Irish Mud Moor Mask

This was my fave detox mask so I’m sad it’s gone. It’s super expensive so I’m trying to find a dupe but it’s great at cleaning out your pores if your budget allows the splurge.

Repurchase? Yes

Asda Vitamin C Brightening Gel Mask

Skincare and relaxing with face masks has been high on my priority list in March so I finished up a lot that only had a couple of uses left. This was really good for a budget face mask and I loved the squeezy tube packaging.

Repurchase? Yes

Revolution Tea Tree Essence Spray

I accidentally spilt half of this when I was fixing the nozzle but I realised I wasn’t all that bothered. These essence sprays are very fragrance-heavy and I’m not convinced by the ingredients at all.

Repurchase? No

Makeup & misc

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara

I’ve had to combine makeup with misc items for the photos because this brow gel was the only thing I finished up. I did a review of this a while ago and it lasted really well and did a good job.

Repurchase? Maybe when I’ve got through other brow products

Soap & Glory Pore-Refining Mask

I don’t really pick sheet masks up anymore but I’m trying to get through the collection I have. This is nice and does have some instant results but nothing long-lasting and it’s quite pricey.

Repurchase? Nah

Avon Naturals Cranberry & Cinnamon Room Spray

This was Christmas in a scent and I only finished it up in March

Repurchase? Yes

Blank Canvas Sponge

This is from a pack reviewed here and I love these Blank Canvas sponges but this one was just starting to look a bit grubby and I have loads.

Repurchase? Yes

Haircare

L’Oreal No Haircut Cream

I’m not sure if this is effective at preventing split ends but it was okay as a thick leave-in conditioner. I wasn’t keen on the sports bottle top type packaging though.

Repurchase? Maybe

Ouai Leave in Conditioner

I wish Ouai would make a perfume that smells the same as their products. This was nice and more lightweight than the L’Oreal but I also didn’t love the packaging of this mini and you end up with product that the spray can’t get to at the end.

Repurchase? It’s so pricey but would use again

Neutrogena T-Gel

A classic therapeutic shampoo that needs no other words.

Repurchase? Always

Paradox Hangover Hair Elixir

The whiskey flask packaging is the cutest thing ever but this mini had no instructions on how to use the product- you had to go on their website which I’m far too lazy to do so I’m still not convinced I used this correctly. Hair oils in general tend to just weigh my hair down and this one didn’t impress me sadly.

Repurchase? No

Bath & Body

Sanctuary Spa Wet Skin Moisture Miracle

I’ve used this before and was actually pretty disappointed when I ran out. This is basically an in-shower body moisturiser, meaning if you’re lazy or forgetful like me and never use body lotion, this stuff has you covered.

Repurchase? Yes

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Body Mist

I love this stuff! It smells exactly like the bum bum cream. It’s not something I’d buy all the time because it’s so damn expensive but I will probably pick it up again at some point.

Repurchase? Yes

PS…Ibiza Escape

I really like the cheap perfumes from Primark. They’re not super long-lasting but they’re nice for work and everyday use. The only problem is it’s a struggle finding products in store again.

Repurchase? Yes

Baylis & Harding Jojoba, Vanilla and Almond Oil Body Wash

I’ve used these body washes before and it’s like a jelly texture that slips out of my hands, meaning I use it up quickly. I love the scent but the texture isn’t for me!

Repurchase? No, but I always get these in giftsets!

So I know it wasn’t the most exciting list of products but I did manage to post my thoughts on my Instagram stories this month which I haven’t done before. @beautysirenblog if you don’t follow me.

Stay safe everyone x
