As much as I love trying new primers, this isn’t one I was initially drawn to but I had wanted to try Ole Henriksen for a while and I managed to get a really good deal on this as part of a set from Boots
Packaging
As a vitamin C product, this primer comes in a bright orange tube with a pump dispenser. I think it’s really practical as well as being eye-catching and staying true to OH branding.
Price
At full price, the Banana Bright Face Primer retails for £28 in the UK for 30ml of product. That’s up there with some very highend pricing, but Ole Henriksen is known as a pricey skincare brand so I think it’s what you can expect from them. This primer does contain vitamin C so I guess you’re paying for skincare benefits too.
Application
While you might expect a banana scent given the name of this primer, it actually smells a lot more like oranges. The texture is a thick but lightweight cream, similar to something like the Clarins SOS Blur Primer but it’s more radiant and less pore filling than that one. The Ole Henrikson primer rubs into the skin easily and leaves it looking smooth and bright. If you don’t like a lot of coverage like me, you can totally get away with wearing this alone as well as under foundation.
Wear
As well as how it makes the skin look, I think it’s important to note how well makeup lasts over a primer. The radiant look this gives my skin doesn’t seem to stick around all day but I do think makeup lasts longer when applied over this primer.
Overall, if you’ve always wanted to try this and you can pick it up on offer or get hold of a mini size, it’s worthwhile trying it out. If it’s not your thing, you probably don’t need to spend the money on this product.
