As I’ve gotten older, I’ve definitely become more aware of sunscreen and the importance of wearing SPF on my face every day, even when it’s cloudy outside or if I’m staying in.

Packaging
The La Roche Posay Anthelios Sun Protection Face Mist is an SPF facial mist in a spray aerosol bottle. It’s very slim and compact in size and has a continuous spray type nozzle.

Price
The La Roche Posay SPF face mist retails for £14 in the UK for 75ml of product but is frequently on offer. I’ve been using this consistently for about two months now and I’d guess that I have about a third of it left so I’d need to repurchase every 3-4 months. If you just want this as a convenient top-up SPF to keep in your handbag during the summer, I expect it would last a lot longer.

Application
This facial mist sprays on like the Morphe Continuous Setting Spray which makes it really easy and convenient to apply, as well as feeling refreshing on the skin.
What I really like about this being a facial mist as opposed to a traditional sun protection cream is that I can apply it over makeup without it causing any problems or disturbing anything underneath, which makes it ideal for reapplying during the day.
I have fairly normal skin with an oily t-zone and spraying this on my face doesn’t make it look overly sticky or greasy but I’m not sure how it would work if you’re very oily. I do have quite a lot of peach fuzz on my face and this spray SPF kind of sits on top of the skin and emphasises that slightly when first applied. You can powder over it or tap it in with the fingers and that solves it but it’s worth noting.
On my light warm skintone, this doesn’t create any sort of white cast other than how it sits on the skin at first but I do think this might be more noticeable on deeper skintones.

Pros
- Relatively affordable
- Great for reapplying SPF
- Can be used under or over makeup
Cons
- La Roche Posay is not cruelty free
- May leave a cast on deeper skintones
- Takes a while to sink in, might not be ideal for oily skin
