Concluding my review of the products from Soph’s latest collaboration with Revolution, this time we’re talking about the face palette highlighter duos. I picked up the shade Cookies and Cream, which is the middle shade of the three duos available.
Packaging
Like the eyeshadow palette, the highlighters come in cardboard packaging this time around. Cardboard packaging can generally get messier and might not be as sturdy as plastic but I really appreciate and respect the decision to make something better for the environment. The outer box has the same sleek branding and inside, you get a mirror and the two highlighter pans.
Price
The new Soph duos retail for £8 each in the UK for 2 x 4.5g of product. Out of everything in the collection, I think these offer the best value for money. Soph’s original highlighter palette with Revolution costs £10 for 8 x 2g highlights so that’s still better value if you want more shades but the formula is slightly improved with this collection.
Shade
Cookies and Cream is the middle shade of the three available, suiting light to medium skin tones. If you have the original highlighter palette, the two shades here are most similar to the gold and champagne shades in the top right. Personally, those were the only shades I really used so it makes more sense to me to have the duo .
Application
I normally use a small fluffy brush to apply the highlighters and find they blend into the skin easily. You can apply these lightly if you like a more subtle glow but they do build up to that wet-looking binding sheen also if that’s your preference. You can wear either shade on its own or mixed together.
Wear
On me, these last around 8 hours over my usual base makeup. I’m pleased to report the highlighters fade nicely without leaving a glitter trail behind and can be built up and reapplied easily if you want to.
