December Empties 2020

I’m glad to get this final empties post written up and gone. Even for a year where I used a lot less, I still got through a lot of products and I’ve found these posts a bit boring to write even though I love reading empties posts myself.

Makeup

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

I’m glad I got to try this primer. I think it’s great for mattifying if you have oily skin and like this kind of silicone primer but I don’t really like this kind of primer anymore.

Repurchase? No

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Concealer

I’ve had this concealer a while now and it’s decent coverage but a bit too matte for my liking, and I also got a shade too dark for me.

Repurchase? No

Urban Decay Comfort Matte Lipstick in 1993

I got this in a set of mini UD lipsticks but their comfort matte formula isn’t my favourite. 1993 was a really unique grey-toned brown shade but I’m just not sure it suited me.

Repurchase? No

Glow Recipe Watermelon Lip Pop

I’m not sure if this should really be classed as makeup or skincare because it’s just a lip balm but it has a bit of tint so I wore it in place of lipstick sometimes. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. It’s not the most nourishing but it had scrubby particles in it so it doubled as a lip scrub as well a balm.

M&S Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream

I loved this stuff! It’s quite rich so I probably don’t need to use it all year round but I felt like I could always tell when I hadn’t used it.

Repurchase? Yes

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum

What I loved about this is that it had the benefits of retinol whilst still being hydrating on my under eyes. I feel like the lines under my eyes look worse since I stopped using this so I have since picked up the full size.

Repurchase? Already have

Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Power Serum

This was a nice serum but a little bit more expensive than I’d probably pay myself. It had a kind of meaty smell that apparently is to do with the type of vitamin c but it seemed to work well.

Repurchase? No but would try again

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Charcoal Detox Mask

I like the feeling of thermal masks so this one was nice but I’m not a fan of the squeezy tube packaging for a thick charcoal mask like this as it was hard to get product out.

Repurchase? Maybe

Haircare

PS…Superblends Nourish Conditioner

It always annoys me when conditioner runs out faster than shampoo but here we are. This is a super affordable option from Primark and it works fine for me, would try their other varieties too.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Nourishing Hair Food Banana & Shea

I’ve used this before and it’s not bad if you can get it on offer. It lasts a long time and the scents are nice, I just haven’t figured out which one best suits my hair.

Bath & Body

Radox Muscle Soak Bath Salts

I’ve talked about these before so I won’t repeat myself but these are a staple repurchase for me.

Repurchase? Yes

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star

Can we just take a moment to appreciate that I’ve used up a whole body lotion. Probably only the second or third time that’s happened in my life. I love Soap & Glory products and this one has a nice scent and sinks into the skin quickly.

Repurchase? Not until I’ve got through some other body lotions

Jack Wills Body Lotion x2

These minis have been hanging around in my collection for way too long.

Mugler Alien Men

I actually didn’t realise this was a for men scent when I tried it out but I kind of liked the man scent it has.

Only two out of 15 products were recycled or reused.

So that’s my last empties post! For 2021, I might change up the way I do my empties again but I’m not sure how yet.
